Students will love learning about procedural writing using a Halloween theme. Students will explore the text structure of procedural text by looking at a variety of online resources.
This 30 page pdf has links to over 40 Halloween crafts and recipes to assist in teaching procedural writing. At the end of the unit, students will create one of five different Halloween crafts using paint chip cards, templates, and construction paper. The craftivities included in this unit are:
Frankenstein
Pumpkin
Bat
Vampire
Witch
There are also ideas for student projects students can do to write their own procedural text based on the craftivity created with and without technology.
