As we all know the first six weeks of school are crucial. At the beginning of the year, we spend all our time introducing routines, procedures and rules. By doing so, we are providing students with a consistent structure and setting clear expectations.
In order to support our students (especially our youngest students, our second language learners and our special education students), it is helpful to provide visual reminders so that students can learn how to become respectful, responsible, independent and cooperative.
That’s why I created these hallway visuals!
In this product you will find….
-a poem for students to chant when lining up
-the following rules/expectations…
I am prepared to go in the hallway.
I am facing forward.
I am keeping my hands and feet still.
I am walking quietly.
I am quietly greeting other citizens.
I am remembering our stopping points.
I am following our hallway expectations/rules.
(Note: These visuals are also written using We are statements).
In addition, I have included six additional visuals that can be used throughout the day to manage student behaviors. The visuals are...
-Line up here.
-Stops Signs (to display throughout your school) and lastly....
- a writing activity where students record one of the hallway expectations/rules using pictures and words.
As always your comments, feedback and/or suggestions are kindly appreciated.
