Whenever, and I mean whenever, a student blurts out, acts out of line, responds impulsively, etc. I send them to the think station and they fill out when of these reflections.
I use these a lot more at the beginning of the year to reinforce my expectations in the classroom. Eventually, students catch on and I don’t have to use them as much. Except for at the end of the year when behaviors start to creep up again.
I keep a record of them in a file folder for later reference, especially when repeated behaviors happen. I can then show my documentation and evidence to parents and administration when issues arise.
I have included the PDF version and the editable electronic google doc version, so you can edit it for your liking. Simply, click file --> make a copy to edit. Enjoy!
