This fun measuring sheet for Purim is a great way to connect your students to the holiday story while using some math. Using the attached Hamentashen sheet cut horizontal lines between each row of hamentashen to create your cookie rulers. Next, have students measure the objects provided for either hight or width using their rulers. Come together and discuss the basic measurements received. Explain the Amah measurement and how it is used according to inches. Have students guess how many Hamentashen they think equal one Amah measurement. Connect this activity to the storyline by going into detail of how big the gallows were using the Amot measuring the children discussed earlier.
