This 6 page summary of Act III of Shakespeare's Hamlet recounts the events in the 4 scenes of this Act, but with words missing. This lesson plan can be used as a guided reading, a review after reading the act, as a paired in-class assignment, or as an open book quiz. Yes, it is long, and yes, it is complete! It follows the story in chronological order, and is a very good review of the plot. It depends on the level of the students how long this will take; my honors students finished this MUCH faster than my CP classes. If you do this as an in-class assignment, it will probably take 2 class periods to finish. I would collect the papers in between so there is no collusion. We corrected it together in class, reading the summary aloud. (You should allow time to correct this together after the students finish it). An answer KEY is provided; it is 12 pages in all.
