Nothing wrong with having fun with a classic --- and this lesson is LOTS of fun. Use it after Act 2 ... Hamlet feels that Ophelia is not there for him --- and he meets Rosencrantz and Guildenstern and is disappointed with them.
One slide: New lyrics befitting Hamlet sung to Simon and Garfunkel's Cecilia --- (with all apologies to S and G)
Second slide: Words from HAIR (rock musical) "What a piece of work is man"
Students are given a handout of new lyrics to Cecilia (now called Ophelia) and the smartboard link to the song ... we hear it once and then we belt out the new words, usually two -three times...kids love it!
We see Hamlet's omnipresence in world by hearing HAIR's version and following it in the text ...
