This has a summary of each act that reminds students what happens at the beginning and ending of the act. Next to each act is a box where students can write their reactions after reading or watching the scene. Specifically students will be asked to chart their reactions through the following question for each act:
What surprised, intrigued, or disturbed you about each of these acts?
This can be used with the script or with a movie version of Hamlet. The summaries are helpful during a movie viewing to allow students to keep track of which act they are watching.
This is a simple observation and reaction notes but I've found it works great with students who read below grade level and need the extra graphic organizers to help them understand the reading. This can easily be a spring board into a more complicated project such as an essay or presentation.
