This worksheet helps students go further into Hamlet's most famous soliloquy in Act III, Scene 1: "To be, or not to be..." This is INCLUDED in the bundle linked below.

After reading, I hand out this sheet, and students use annotation symbols to go through and mark the text. Then, they explain a little more thoroughly why they put some of the symbols down. Finally, they consider what this soliloquy indicates about Hamlet's state of mind, in connection with the driving question of whether his madness is real or faked.

I have seen great success with this worksheet my seniors in dual-credit English and college Composition I, and their answers to the final question often sparked quality discussion.
