Something is rotten in the state of Denmark! Can you foil the dastardly King Claudius and catch this murderous monarch in the jaws of his very own Mouse-Trap? Drive student engagement through the roof with this comprehensive Escape Room simulation in a race against the clock as students use knowledge of the plot, characters, setting, and events of Hamlet -- Shakespeare's timeless tragedy of angst, justice, and existential revenge!
This Escape Room is designed to test your students’ knowledge of Hamlet in a high-energy end-of-unit collaborative activity, where student groups will race against the clock to defeat Hamlet's murderous uncle Claudius and serve up a taste of the villain's own medicine!
There are five different puzzles in this game, all of which can only be unlocked by correctly solving a total of 67 themed clues testing the following concepts:
• Castle Night Watch - Thematic Brain Teaser (Four clues)
• Stage & Scene Scramble - Setting (15 clues w/ cipher)
• YouToBE or Not To Be Film Fest - Video Clues / QR Codes (16 clues)
• Cast of Characters Quote ID - Quote Identification (24 quotes w/ cipher).
• Timeline Puzzle - Chronology / Symbolism (8 clues w/ cipher)
*(Note: the "YouToBE or Not To Be" Film Festival puzzle requires internet access by way of a device with a QR code reader. If your classes do not have BYOD / one-to-one, you will need to set your overhead projection to "extended display" so as to simultaneously set up a video clip screening station and keep the countdown clock displayed at the same time)
