Experience this exciting hands-on learning adventure! The Hand Bells and Harmony Unit introduces concepts of tonal diatonic harmony while engaging students through hand bell playing. The zipped folder included in this product includes a Hand Bells and Harmony PPT, a folder with linked mp3 sound effects including an original rhythm backing track, and a Unit Organizer hand out for your students. Feel free to use the sound effects however you would like. Teaching directions and tips are included throughout. This unit effectively teaches concepts based around the major scale, intervals, triads, interval construction of triads, chord progressions, and beginning harmonic analysis. This is great as a beginning introduction to music theory and can also be helpful for more advanced learners who need stimulating and organized visuals. I have also used sections of this crafty Power Point with my younger learners and the Orff instruments and boom whackers to build knowledge of chords and chord progressions for improvisation. I believe learning music theory through active playing participation creates a valuable in depth learning experience for students which will strengthen all areas of their musical ability.
The Preview file contains just a few sample slides with no linked sounds.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy the result of my addiction to playing with power points!
