I am currently working on a Digital Portfolio Pilot project with a group of my sixth graders. One of the things that they are struggling with is thinking about the kinds of posts that they can write in their portfolios. The fact of the matter is that reflecting about their own learning isn't something that they are automatically skilled at.
That's why I put this handout together. It details four different types of posts that students can write for their portfolios and includes an example of what those posts might sound like in action. I am using it to provide exemplars for my students about just what reflection sounds like in action.
NOTE: The same prompts and "post types" can be used to encourage reflection in ANY students. While this is a part of a digital portfolio project for me, you could use the same ideas to encourage reflection in Interactive Learning Logs or notebooks as well.
You are purchasing an editable Word Document that you can customize to meet your needs.
