This is a hands-on math packet, by Sara Ipatenco, that allows your students to manipulate Halloween pictures to verbally create addition and subtraction number sentences. Give each student a full-paged Halloween scene and the corresponding pictures. Make up fun word problems and have your students act them out using the scene and the pictures. For example, for the haunted house scene, you might say there were 6 happy ghosts and 3 scared ghosts living in the house. Ask students to tell you how many ghosts there are all together or how many more happy ghosts there are than scared ghosts. I also like to partner my students and have them make up story problems for each other. This packet is a great way to build addition and subtraction skills without using the same old worksheet! No recording necessary, but I guarantee that your students will have a great time practicing how to make addition and subtraction sentences! You get a total of 6 Halloween scene pages and 6 sets of corresponding pictures. Your students can color the sets for a bit of added fun! Enjoy!!
Scenes included are:
1. Haunted house with ghost pictures
2. Witch's cauldron with witches and vampires
3. Treat Bag with candy and lollipops
4. Witch with black cats and bats
