This is a complete lesson that will allow you to hit the ground teaching. Use this project to teach students about Howard Gardner and his Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Using a multi sensory approach, students draw, see, listen, write and discuss to explore theories that highlight their gifts, talents and individual types of intelligence. Explanations of handedness and the function of the brain's right and left hemispheres are covered. Students use drawing to complete a self-assessment of individual strengths and challenges.

This is a wonderful way to build self confidence, self esteem and self knowledge. Reflections on the learning can lead to more focus in the classroom. Finally, the resulting self portraits make fascinating and colorful bulletin boards and displays.
