Product Description
This is a very fun, hands-on lab that involves students chewing gum and graphing at the same time. This lab has students using the process of the scientific method, while being engaged and motivated at the same time. Using chewing gum speed as the focus, students generate data in which they have to graph. This is a great lab to discuss variables, graphing, and even the physics of speed over time. In addition to following the procedure and graphing, there are also many analysis and conclusion questions at the end of the lab based on the data students generate. This lab can be done as an introduction to graphing in either a math or science classroom or as an activity-assessment on conducting labs or following the process of the scientific method.
