Product Description

There’s no doubt about it – fractions can be a tough topic! My classes have really benefitted from some hands-on activities that help bring the concept off the paper and into real-life. I have created recording sheets for three activities that I believe support a strong foundational understanding of fractions. The activities included in this bundle are described below. More detailed directions and suggestions are included in the download.

1) Fraction bowling - In groups, students rotate to bowling stations set up with varying amount of pins (denominators).

2) Fraction families - Students write fractions to represent their own families.

3) Dream sheet pizza - Students work together as a class to create their own dream pizza. Each student represents a unit fraction of the pizza - and once they come together they create the whole. You may choose to do this activity with another class to represent a fraction greater than one whole!

Hope this bundle helps you and your students! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or suggestions!
