This activity walks students through the necessary steps for identifying a theme in a book and then finding text support for their idea. This activity can work for any novel or short story!
The activity culminates with students creating a theme mobile (like...a baby mobile) using a wire hanger and other materials.
This is a good activity for 8th or 9th graders who are working on finding textual evidence to support their ideas.
Materials you will need: Hangers (have students bring in), construction paper, string, glue
