Do your students have trouble with rounding? This step by step hands on rounding practice will really help those students see and understand what it is to round by physically sliding numbers on a number line.
This hands on practice starts with rounding to the nearest 10's by looking at a number line and determining where the number needing to be rounded falls on the number line. When they have mastered this they will practice on a rounding worksheet.
This worksheet uses a number line, in the same way they used the rounding board. After this practice students can practice on a rounding to the nearest 10's worksheet.
Students will progress from rounding to the nearest 10's to rounding to the nearest 10's within 100. Then rounding to the nearest 100's to rounding to the nearest 100's within 1000. And finally rounding to different place values within 1000.
