We are all finally realizing the benefit of spending MORE time on handwriting! This handwriting practice booklet is great for some Kindergarten students and perfect for First and Second Graders to practice their handwriting skills!
This booklet includes all upper and lowercase alphabet letters, A-Z and meets Common Core Standards RF1.3a, RF1.3b, RF1.3g and L1.1a. Each page gives the students pictures/words to read and decode that begin with the specific letter, so that they can practice the sounds and have a little fun coloring while strengthening those hand muscles. They are provided with practice in tracing the letters first, then space is allowed for writing. Additionally, students can practice writing words and a sentence. This packet is different than most you see because I chose to use a size more appropriate to first grade writing. Also, I used many sight words as well as SOME objects they may not see everyday. This way students can also expand their vocabulary. :) These pages can easily be used during Handwriting time, as homework, morning work or for early finishers.
As with any lesson, please be sure to instruct students on the proper techniques of letter formation BEFORE allowing them to practice this workbook on their own, or they may "draw" the letters instead of write them. :) I like to include a Letter Formation Chart (with arrows) in their booklets to help remind students of the proper way to form the letters. I did not have access to one to include in this packet for you, but there are many free downloads on the Internet that you can easily find.
I hope that you enjoy my product. If you notice any mistakes, please notify me ASAP and I will remedy the situation immediately. Thank you for your support! :)
