Have you ever had a student who knows how to correctly form their letters, but doesn’t always take their time and write their neatest? What about the student who often forgets capitals, punctuation, and misspells words that are right in the text?
Well, I’ve had those students too, and that’s why I came up with my Animal Facts handwriting pack. I found that these students tend to write messy or make errors because they were rushing to get done and weren’t being careful.
What would make my students take their time and be more careful?
How about some fun and interesting animal facts? And my second edition of Happy handwriting was born! (Check out the first edition of joke handwriting practice here!

How to use:
This pack is NO PREP meaning you can just print, copy, and go. I’d recommend copying back-to-back to save paper.
Have the students carefully copy the facts, making sure to include all punctuation, correct spelling, and neat handwriting. Remind students to double check their work. Under the directions on each page is a smiley face. Once students hand in their page, you can check their spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and handwriting. If they got everything correct, you can color the smiley face green, if they made a few errors, circle the errors and color the smiley face yellow, and if they made a lot of errors, circle the errors and color the smiley face in red. Allow students to go back and correct any errors. Once all errors are fixed, they can take their page home and share their animal facts with family and friends! I always told my students they couldn’t take their facts home until they were perfect, so they always tried their best.
As always, my goal is to make teaching a breeze!
