As Handwriting Without Tears® continues to work its magic on primary students, I have created differentiated Alphabet Wall Cards for multiple grade levels. In this collection, there are 2 sets of cards for Kindergarten and for 1st-2nd Grade students. The Kindergarten set includes simple anchor pictures with minimal syllables and blends. The 1st-2nd Grade set introduces anchor pictures with longer syllables, compound words, and common initial/final blends. Both sets come in two versions: one version with gray capital boxes to help students know where to start the capital letter formations and the other version without gray capital boxes.
While these cards were designed to be used as wall cards or a board topper, there are ideas included on how you can create flashcards, differentiate your instruction as you begin teaching about syllables and blends, and ideas for creating alphabet puzzles for literacy centers.
