This unit contains a letter to families in English and in Spanish telling the name of the fairy tale, listing what related topics will be covered in class, and offering suggestions for activities to do at home. There is also space for the teacher to request materials that parents may want to contribute to the classroom. Next, is a brief history of the fairy tale. This is one or two paragraphs long. The bulk of the unit consists of detailed descriptions of six activities. These descriptions include suggestions for introducing the activity, and a suggestion as to which time in the school day the activity should be used. Also, included is a list of goals after each activity, which align with the drafted Common Core Standards for preschool. There is also a short list of additional activities that could supplement the theme. Finally, there is a bibliography of books and other materials that fit the theme.
