This super fun Hanukkah Math game is a great way to review operations and variables at the same time! Divide the students into groups, play as a class, or use it as one of your holiday themed Math stations. This can also be used as a fun assessment to test your students' understanding of variables!
Game includes a two-page (double sided) game sheet and instructions.
Additional Materials needed to play: three different color dreidels for each group (Example: two groups = 6 dreidels)
Each color dreidel has one number on each of the four sides.
The three dreidels are as follows:
Orange: Division (Note: Some division problems have remainders)
Students determine what operation has to be done to solve the problem (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division). The numbers on each dreidel represent the value of the variable. Each student gets a turn to spin the correct color dreidel and determine the value of the variable. Then, on their game sheet, students solve the problem based on the variable that was spun.
This is a multiplication problem. The student spins the blue dreidel to determine the value of the m.
Student spins a 2 on the dreidel. m = 2
6 x 2 = 12
Students can compare answers to see who got the most problems correct!
