Description
As our schools (and world!) get more diverse, our classrooms also need to get more diverse as well. This December, include songs and traditions from many different cultures! Hanukkah, Hanukkah is a perfect piece to include!
This lesson presents (or practices!) half notes. It includes a powerpoint to teach the song, introduce half notes, and learn about Hanukkah. There is an Orff-estration so your kids can play barred instruments and small percussion. It also includes a printable lesson plan and worksheets to go along with the lesson to help practice or reinforce. Did I mention that everything is available in stick notation and regular notation?
For reference, I used this lesson with second grade.
This lesson also includes directions and gelt so that students can play the dreidel game. I got these dreidels off of Amazon-- there are lots of affordable options there!
Includes:
