Are you looking for a simple, yet musical K-5 song for a winter program? "Burn Little Candles" is a song of Hanukkah traditions with differentiated activities for grades K-5. These activities provide attainable performance options for young students while challenging older students. All grades will enjoy digitally lighting the Hanukkah candles and learning about Hanukkah traditions.
This song makes a great classroom activity or an addition to an all-school performance with older students playing the xylophone/recorder melody, younger students playing the xylophone ostinato patterns and the youngest students singing and playing the finger cymbals or triangle. The performance options included are very attainable and musically rewarding for all K-5 classes.
This lesson includes slides with standard musical notation and optional slides with solfege & treble clef note names labeled to provide for differentiation in each class as well as between grade levels.
See chart in preview slide 2.
