This lesson is based around the episode "The Not Making of a President" from the television show, Happy Days. This episode is used to describe how the public viewed the election between Democratic candidate, Stevenson, and Republican candidate, Eisenhower. The students watch the episode and they fill in the appropriate boxes that state how the characters from Happy Days describe the pros and cons of each presidential candidate.
The aim of the lesson is to examine, analyse and describe popular Cold War political observations by the public. This could also serve as an extra-credit assignment.
