Looking for some kid-friendly and meaningful projects to make for Father’s Day? This product has 3 easy-to-make, printable activities!!! Make just 1 or all 3. These projects can be made for dads OR for grandfathers, uncles, or guardians for those children who need/want to make them for someone other than their dads.
1) Father’s Day Draw & Write Booklets
These booklets are designed to look like a scrapbook inside, and students will record their special memories and messages for the recipient on the pages using their own words and pictures. Writing prompts and sentence starters make this a very do-able project for young writers in grades 1-3. The product includes 2 formats for differentiation – 1 set has handwriting lines for younger students or for those who need the handwriting guides…1 set has single spaced lines and a 2-page planning/rough draft sheet that can be used by older students.
There are 3 different cover/back cover design choices (woodland theme – generic, #1 Dad theme – specifically for dads, and Father’s Day gift theme – generic). (6 total pages - 3 each in both formats)
There are 10 different ½ page draw & write booklet pages (use all or just the ones you want). (12 total pages - 5 pages of draw & write pages in both line formats, plus a 2 page planning sheet)
Minimal extra supplies are required. (Needed: construction paper or patterned scrapbook paper for the booklets' front and back covers, plus a stapler...Optional: cover up the staples with washi-tape or ribbon).
2) Father's Day Cards
There are 3 different top-fold Father's Day cards that are as easy to make as print and go. Just print onto cardstock, and your students can color the fronts in and then write their own sentiments or messages on the insides of the cards. Version one is generic, and the other two versions are specifically for dads. The graphics coordinate with the other two projects. (Making these cards could also just be used for early finishers who have finished their Father's Day Draw & Write booklets early!)
3) Father’s Day "Frame-ables"
There are 3 different Father’s Day themed frame-able sentiments in color with space to attach a photo to (Father’s Day gift theme – generic, #1 Dad theme and I Love Dad themes – specifically for dads). To make this project, you'll have to plan in advance to have your students pictures taken and get the photos printed in time. There are 3 different "mini poster" messages for students to hold while having their photo taken by you, and these photos will then be glued to the frame-ables (message choices: You’re the BEST!, I LOVE YOU!, and You are AWESOME! - again, generic and dad-specific options)…You could laminate these, provide your students with inexpensive dollar-store frames, or simply mount them on construction paper. Either way, a personalized photo-gift is always special! (6 total pages)
Directions are included for making the Draw & Write Booklets and Frame-ables. (3 pages)
