This set of activities is for the Harcourt Trophies story, A Bed Full of Cats. The activities can be used for individual practice of skills, small group instruction, or literacy skills. Recording sheets are included for assessment purposes. This unit includes:
A Bed Full of Long /e/ Cats~ Students will sort word cards under the correct long vowel pattern. Students write the complete word on the recording sheet.
Looking for Some New Words~ Students will read sentence cards and choose the correct vocabulary word to complete the sentence. Students record the words on their answer sheet.
Making Words~ Students create words using letter cards and write their words on their recording sheet.
Flora's ABC Order~ Students put three sets of word cards in ABC order and record on their answer sheet.
Help Lee Find Flora! Matching Contractions~ Students match Lee to Flora ( matching the two words and the contraction). Students record the contraction on the answer sheet.
Capitalizing Proper Nouns (Holidays) ~ Students rewrite sentences from sentence cards, using correct capitalization and punctuation, focusing on capitalization of names of holidays.
