Harcourt Trophies, Book 5 ~ Tic, Tac, Toe-Read & Grow Fluency Game ~ 1st Grade
Add a little fun to your first grade reading block while practicing fluency with this easy-to-use activity. The rules of this game are similar to the rules of Tic, Tac, Toe, but the children must read a short sentence before they mark their “X” or “O”. Every sentence is taken from the Harcourt Trophies Grade 1 Reading Series and will therefore help the children become familiar with the story words and reading with fluency.
There are two games on each sheet. I always run extra copies of each page because many children want to play again and again. (And that’s a good thing!) You may also decide to print the games on card stock and laminate them to reuse over and over to save paper.
There is one printable for each of the following Grade 1 Harcourt Trophies reading stories:
· The Story of a Blue Bird
· Frog and Toad All Year
· Fishing Bears
· How to Be a Nature Detective
· The Puddle
· Poppleton Everyday
· Sleep Is for Everyone
I hope your class enjoys this as much as my class does!
