Harcourt Grade 1: Color-A-Word Partner Game: Working With Spelling- Books 3,4,5
Who doesn’t like playing games with friends and coloring? With this cute learning game your students get to do both!
This 22-page packet will provide your students with spelling and reading practice using the spelling words that are introduced in the first grade Harcourt Trophies reading series. This supplement includes one page for each of the 22 stories included in Books 3, 4, and 5 of the Harcourt Trophies reading series.
Play is simple. Each player needs a different colored crayon. Player 1 rolls a die and follows the directions next to the number s/he has rolled. If the player cannot complete the given task, s/he loses that turn. Player 2 continues playing in the same manner. The students will play until all of the words are colored in. The player with the most colored circles wins!
The spelling pages included in this supplement may be used with the following Grade 1 Harcourt Trophies stories:
I Am a Butterfly
Did You See Chip?
On the Way to the Pond
The Fox and the Stork
A Bed Full of Cats
Me on the Map
At Home Around the World
Tell Me a Story
On the Job with Dr. Martha Smith
Little Bear’s Friend
Busy Buzzy Bee
The Story of a Blue Bird
Frog and Toad All Year
How to Be a Nature Detective
Sleep Is for Everyone
You certainly do not have to be implementing the Harcourt Trophies Series to use this packet. The spelling patterns that are covered in this download may prove to be beneficial in any primary classroom.
This spelling packet makes a great word work center and works well as morning work, too.
So, grab a die and some crayons and have fun learning!
