Harcourt Grade 1 ~ Roll & Trace ~ Spelling & High-Frequency Words ~ Books 1 & 2
Whether you are implementing the Harcourt Trophies Reading Series or not, this printable packet may be just what your students need. This no-prep spelling/high-frequency word packet includes "Roll & Trace in Color" printables for the spelling and high-frequency words used in Books 1 and 2 of the Harcourt Trophies First Grade Reading Series.
There are 2 worksheets for each of the 12 stories included in Books 1 and 2. The first worksheet for each story uses the Harcourt Trophies Grade 1 spelling words printed with dotted lines to be traced with colored pencils or crayons. The second worksheet for each story uses high-frequency words.
Students simply read a word on the printable, roll a die to see which color they should use to trace the word (using the color code at the bottom of each page), and trace the word in that color. This activity allows children to have fun while reading and writing their spelling and high-frequency words.
This works well as a literacy and word work tool whether you are using the Harcourt Trophies Reading Series or another reading series. The words included may be used in any primary classroom.
Great for small groups, morning work, literacy centers, and independent practice!
The Harcourt Trophies stories included are:
Sam and the Bag
Jack and Rick
All That Corn
Boots for Beth
Where Do Frogs Come From?
Try Your Best
Fun With Fish
So, grab a die and some colored pencils or crayons, and get rolling!
