These literacy stations correlate with Here and There (part of Harcourt Trophies reading series). There are twelve game boards ready to print and use (one color and one black and white per story). This game is designed for 2-3 players. Students choose game pieces and begin at start. They roll a die to see how many spaces to move. Each spot on the mat has students using their reading books to find information. This is a very valuable strategy that they need later on in school and in life. They are asked to do this on their standardized tests. Why not lay that foundation now? Students move around the mat locating information as they go. They are reading thier new sight words and using their reading books to improve comprehension. Questions become more challenging as readers grow. The beginning games are more fill-in the blank style. Toward the end of the year, they are asked more complex questions.
This set includes games for the stories "I Am a Butterfly", "Did You See Chip?", "Tomas Rivera", "On the Way to the Pond", "Friends Forever", and "The Fox and the Stork".
