For this activity, students practice reading words and determining if the C makes a hard sound as in CAT or a soft sound as in CELL. For the first sheet, the soft C is at the beginning of the word, and for the 2nd sheet, the soft c could be in the middle of the word. Students read the word, determine the sound, then cut, sort and glue the word into the correct category. This can be used for any spelling or word study program! Check out my many other vowel team sorts, r-controlled vowel team sorts, digraph sorts, blends sorts, unit word searches, etc.!
