This elementary science lab is a great way to get students introduced to and excited about nature. Seeds are such an exciting topic and how they travel brings questions to the minds of students. This lab introduces four agents to disperse – wind, water, animals, and hitchhiking. The students have a hands-on experience to test these four possible ways on three different seeds. Each agent is used in a station and the student selects three different seeds to test. The student then decides which seed is the best one for that dispersing agent. This kit includes a CD of the lesson plan in the pdf format, 3 small tweezers, 1 toast tong, 1 claw tong, 2 pieces of faux fur, 20 different seeds that will fit into the four categories of dispersal.
