This project is a fantastic way to get students to think creatively about famous writers of the Harlem Renaissance and their impact on the world!
Included is a simple, visual directions page that explains to your students how to create a "bookjacket" for a biography on a Harlem Renaissance writer like Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Claude McKay, and more (a list is include for students to choose from).
Students then create a title, front cover, review quotes, a summary and more based on what this biography would be about. An included rubric helps with grading and also lets students know exactly what is required.
My students have created some very engaging and creative bookjackets that turned out amazing and we used to decorate our classroom. It's a fun project that also has students thinking and being creative!
