This is a set of two differentiated vocabulary tests for the following words from an excerpt of the book Harriet Tubman:Conductor on the Underground Railroad by Ann Petry: borne, disheveled, instill, dispel, cajoling, indomitable, sullen, eloquence, mutinous, fastidious.
The first test has one section of matching the 10 words to their definitions. Then there is also a multiple choice question for each of the 10 words that utilize higher order thinking.
The second test has the definition matching broken into two sections with five words each. The content is the exact same wording as on the regular version. Each of the multiple choice questions are the same too, but with only three answer choices instead of the four that the regular version has.
A key is included for each version.
