After reading "Harriet Tubman: Conductor on the Underground Railroad" by Ann Petry, students can complete poster. They will choose a quote from a jar that discusses Tubman's influence and impact on the hundreds of slaves she saved. Then, students will locate a second quote from the text that connects to their first, and students will then illustrate these quotes on a poster. Finally, students will write a paragraph explaining the connection between the quotes and Tubman's overall impact. Can be completed individually, in pairs, or in small groups.
