This Harriet Tubman resource has the following activities to help students learn more about Harriet Tubman, slavery and the Underground Railroad.
-Harriet Tubman Biography Mini-book: Students will read to learn about Harriet Tubman. Students can read independently, with a partner, in small groups, or as a whole class. After reading, they can complete a quick quiz on the back and a fun word search.
-United States Map Coloring Activity: Students will color a map of the United States identifying slave states and free states.
-Underground Railroad Map: Students will color the slave states and free states and then cut out and glue to their map railroad ties to show the escape routes to the north.
-The Face of Harriet Tubman on $20 Bill Writing Activity: Students will write about why Tubman deserves to be on the bill and then draw her picture in the circle.
-Tubman Quote Writing Craftivity: Students write about a famous quote by Harriet Tubman.
Generic (blank) Writing Craftivity Ideas: Students can write a biography, facts, other famous quotes by Harriet Tubman.
Timeline: Students will cut, sort and paste major events/ accomplishments in Harriet Tubman’s life.
