Pg. 3-5 Vocabulary in Context – copy pages A and B back to back, fold on the solid lines and cut on the dotted lines, illustrate and write a sentence for each vocabulary word
Pg. 6 Use It! - use your vocabulary words in a paragraph/short story
Pg. 7-8 Spelling Fun! – time to get a little crazy with your spelling words – write them with your eyes closed, with your opposite hand, with curls at the end of each letter, with your favorite color, in all capitals, in all lowercase – roll the dice to see what to do – write each word 3 times
Pg. 9-11 My Comprehension Flip It! – copy pages A and B back to back – fold on the solid lines, cut on the dotted lines – fill in
Pg. 12 Roll a Transition Word – for use with the 2012 version – roll two dice, add together, get a transition word to use in a sentence – repeat until you have written seven sentences
Pg. 13 Roll a Relative Pronoun or Adverb! – for use with the 2014/2017 version – roll two dice, add together, get a relative pronoun or adverb to use in a sentence to join a dependent clause and an independent clause in a sentence – repeat until you have written seven sentences

Pg. 19-21 Suffix Teller! – practice your –ness, -less, -full, -ment suffixes in a fun way – write two words for each suffix and use them in a sentence – find a partner to share your words with by using your Suffix Teller
Pg. 22 – 27 there are two versions of this activity one for the 2012 version - Persuasion – Reasons and Conclusions and one for the 2014/2017 version – Conclusions and Generalizations – Goal and Details – cut out the colored construction rectangle, fill out and glue the white rectangle writing paper to the construction paper – cut out the walking shoes – fill out, color around the white writing box, punch holes on all the dots, add yard through the two holes on both the shoes – tie the laces together at the end while attaching to the rectangular construction paper – add yarn to the top and hang – see example
Pg. 28-32 March! - a writing and craft activity – attach the writing paper to the bottom of a large oblong construction paper – to the top of the paper add the legs, socks, and shoes – position the legs and shoes as if they were going on a march, hang the tops of the legs off the top of the large construction paper and trim to fit, add yarn bows for the laces – write about something or a cause you would march for to make a change
