Wacky Witch: Asking and Telling Sentences: Students sort sentences as asking or telling sentences and then record their answers on the response sheet provided. This can be used in a reading station, as a whole group activity, as a small group, or as a needs based activity. It can also be used for early finishers that need the practice.

Spooky Addition: Double digit addition: students must match the double digit addition problem to the answer. This is a concentration game. This can be used as a station, small groups, whole group, or as a needs based group activity.

Jack’s Contractions: Students must find two words to use for Jack’s eyes to make a contraction, then find the contraction to use for Jack’s nose. After they have made all the contractions, students then write the contractions on the pumpkin recording sheet provided.

5. Skeleton’s Synonyms: Students must match each skeleton to the skull with the matching synonym. After matching the synonyms, students will write the matches on each bone. This is played like concentration. Students place the cards face down in front of them and then choose two cards to try and find matching synonyms. If they do not match, they place cards back where they were and play continues with the next player. When all matches are made, the one with the most cards is the winner. The students will then write the matching synonyms on the recording sheet provided. This game can be used as a station, as a whole group, small groups, or as a needs based group.

6. Mr. Owl Learns How to Measure: Using an inch ruler, measure how far Mr. Owl will have to fly to reach each branch of the tree. Record your answers. This can be used as a station, whole group, small group, or as a needs based group activity.

All the activities can be used as math and reading stations, small group, whole group, or as needs based activities.
