One game board activity, one set of cards but multiple common core standards addressed such as: reading numbers 0-125, plus 1, minus 1, plus 10, minus 10, comparing two two-digit numbers.
Included: Four gameboards, directions and 0-125 number cards. The preview shows all four gameboards.
For students to do this activity, the teacher must first decide which common core standard they want the children to work on. From there it's simple. Let's say the teacher wanted the students to practice number recognition. The students would draw a number card and say the number on the card. If correct, the students move their game marker one step closer to the haunted house. If incorrect, they stay where they are. Game continue until one player reaches the haunted house.
The same process works for practicing Plus 1, Minus 1, Plus 10, Minus 10. Students draw a card and either add one/ten or take away one/ten.
For students to compare two two-digit numbers, the students would pick two cards during their turn. They would say, for example, "twenty-one is more than seventeen." They would then move their game marker one step closer to the haunted house.
I hope your students enjoy this activity.
