Kids LOVE going to Physical Education! Why not get them energized in the classroom by having them read and write about their favorite active skills? This is a really fun unit on 9 basic Physical Educations skills that incorporate reading, writing, and comprehension all together. You can use all of this as a unit or you can use the individual skills. It's up to you! It is designed to be implemented either way.
I’ve included the “How to” for each skill, several questions as a response, and three Venn diagrams to compare/contrast some skills. You may want to copy the Venn Diagrams “back to back” with the questions on the opposite side. There are three different writing prompts for your students, plus an opportunity to interview their physical education teacher and/or coach. There is also "prior knowledge" questionnaire and a short quiz at the end that incorporates all of them, if you use all of the skills with your students.
