This rhythmic decoding version of Headbands is played similarly to "Million Dollar Pyramid." Working with a partner, students try to decode the rhythm on their headband. One partner reads the pattern that the other is wearing on their handband and the other person decodes the rhythm that the other person clapped or performed on an instrument.

This freebie version focuses on quarter notes and barred eighth notes. The cards are written in stick notation without note heads and are part of a larger set that you can find in this file: Headbands! A Rhythm Decoding Game, level 1

** These are not specific to a rhythmic duration counting system so they will easily work interchangeably with what you use in your classroom
