Within the Ontario curriculum, this package can apply to various areas within Health Education.

As we know, allergies are often so severe that a child may lose their life if they come in contact with an allergen. Therefore, this is a very serious and important topic to ensure students are empathetic towards others and have a greater understanding of the severe harm that some of their classmates may face on a daily basis.

This package can help specifically with the grade 2 curriculum on Healthy Eating (C2.2) and more specifically within Personal Safety and Injury Prevention:

(C1.2) identify common food allergies and sensitivities (e.g., to peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish) and the reactions they might cause (e.g., swelling, skin rash, difficulty breathing, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea, coma, death)
