Unit 5 – Health I--- Pregnancy and Parenting
This unit will provide students with an opportunity to learn about the miracle and implications of birth.  Students will be able to evaluate the impact of pregnancy and parenting on their lives and participate in a simulated parenting experience.
· LONG-TERM LEARNING TARGETS
5.1     I can identify community based organization for support in my sexual health. 3.12.1
5.2     I can identify facts about 3 pregnancy options: parenting, abortion and adoption. 3.12.5
5.3     I can predict the emotional, mental and financial impact each pregnancy option could have on me as a teen. 5.12.2
5.4     I can analyze the commitment of parenting on many aspects of my life. 5.12.2
5.5     I can describe the process of pregnancy and the impact on the mother and the fetus throughout the nine months of gestation. 5.12.3
5.6     I can identify the stages of childbirth.
5.7     I can describe possible childbirth complications as well as testing techniques doctors use to predict such complications and possible birth disorders. 5.12.3
