This file contains information about Drugs – focusing on inhalants. It covers the following objectives: During the class period, the students will be able to build an understanding of the importance of Inhalants and why it’s so dangerous by following through the PowerPoint Presentation and taking good notes from the presentation that will help them in the future in Health Class.
For the duration of the Bell Ringer, the students will be able to identify if the question is a myth or fact by symbolizing their answer with a stand up from their seats for Fact or remain sitting for a Myth with 100% accuracy. During the lecture, the students will be able to structure the information and add in any information by composing a notebook throughout the period and all throughout Health Class. NOTE: the lesson is best with the power point and would be rather difficult to teach unless you have a great knowledge base of inhalants and drugs– so purchasing the power point I would highly recommend. Unfortunately, the formats cannot be combined (word doc. And ppt) together so they will have to be purchased separately – sorry for inconvenience. This lesson is geared towards 5-7th grade health, but can easily be used at any grade level to get the topic across to the students. The lesson is for one full class period of 40 minutes. The students will learn about: What are inhalants, Different types of inhalants, Examples of inhalants, If inhalants are addictive, If someone can die from inhalants, What they can do if themselves or someone else is abusing inhalants. Enjoy!
