As the warmer weather approaches after the winter months, students are looking forward to do more outdoor activities such as playing sports, biking, swimming and much more. A lesson plan on health and safety is a great way to prep our students to ensure they practice safety and avoid risky behavior to minimize chances of injury.
This is a lesson plan on health and safety broken down into 6 components that can be used for 30 minute lessons each. Each lesson is projected onto a Promethean board and covers basic safety rules for homes, classrooms and the community which children should be aware of. Contents include: safety tips, group activity/brainstorming, games, video.
Lessons 1 to 4 each were prepared using Microsoft Office Powerpoint titled as follows:
Lesson 1 - We Stay Safe - Making Healthy Choices
Lesson 2 - Name The Danger (See Preview for a free download)
Lesson 3 - Stand Up For Safety
Lesson 4 - Stop and Tell (covers bullying)
Lesson 5 - Wrap Up Student Activity
I have included coaching notes for each of the above lessons to help you, the teacher, ensure the lesson plans are executed smoothly.
Please do provide feedback and I will strive to respond to each and everyone of your questions and concerns. Your feedback will help me improve myself and my work to ensure I provide higher quality work in the future.
