Product Description
Relate content from your Biology classroom to modern health careers and issues with this lesson. Students learn about life expectancy and how Biology has impacted the way humans live.

Your purchase includes a 21 slide PowerPoint presentation that addresses interesting issues in the medical field today and relates them to Biology content. Links to four suggested video links and one audio link are included in the PowerPoint, easily making this presentation multimedia. Student notes handout includes space for a quick write before the presentation and then focuses student attention during the presentation. The activity is an article over increased life expectancy and instructions for students to annotate it. Annotation requires students to slow down and read closely, and opens up venues for small and large group discussions.

I use this lesson in one 90 minute class period. It could easily be broken into two 40 minute class periods or shortened by removing the video/audio links, and/or article close-read activity.
