This “Healthy Habits” sequencing activity features Social Stories for common “Life Skills.”
The short stories are in first person. Staff can read the story slowly aloud as students sequence the pictures, or read the whole story and then have the student sequence the pictures. If the student is a reader- they can read it independently.
*To adapt this activity, you can put the first and last picture on the continuum and have the student fill in the middle.
This activity is aligned with the “Visual Performance” section of a commonly used Autism rating scale assessment. This activity also works on comprehension skills.
The sequences use the common “first, next, then” visuals with the green, yellow, red color.
