This is a 4-day research project on healthy choices in a typical teenager’s day. It focuses on the 6 essential nutrients, food groups, empty calories, sleep and exercise. It also makes a nutrition connection between the food we eat and what it does for our body systems. The students will use the planning sheet to create a brochure called Healthy Me. The websites are included within the planning sheet. To differentiate instruction, I have provided a shell that I used for my SPED and ESOL students instead of a blank brochure. This also includes a rubric for grading and teacher lesson plan. This could be used as a cross-curricular project between Science Class and PE/Health Class.
