This chart was created in Word format with lots of colorful clip art. It is a chart that describes how to use healthier products to replace ingredients when making a recipe. An example is using egg whites instead of whole eggs and whole wheat flour instead of white flour. Most any recipe can be converted to a healthier version of itself by following these suggestions.
As an assignment, I have the student find a recipe that they love (either a breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert recipe). Then I have them convert the recipe to a healthier version by using the guidelines on this chart. For a project grade, they can make the recipe at home and bring the dish in for everyone to taste and evaluate:).
